The New Year

Winter dressed our town

in a white bridal gown

while the sun gives it

a diamond glisten

The freezing cold

bites our noses and toes

and Christmas cheer still echoes

while the New Year

we’re about to christen

What it’ll bring

is still a closed book

Poems - The New Year.jpg

The pages will fill only

as the days unhook

with hopefully

lots of happiness

and many blessings

but no matter what it’ll bring

come this year’s end

we’ll raise our glasses

and wish well

our family and friends

and hail the New Year

like a king

Happy New Year! I feel as if I was there with you in your snow-swathed town. Lovely!
