Silent Goodbye

She wrote him a letter
explaining how she feels
and that she doesn’t think
their life will get any better
and so she leaves
He softly sighs in his sleep
and turns as she mouths him goodbye
while the house at this unearthly hour
seems to weep
But he’s unaware
and she’s deafened by the freedom bells
that ring in her ears
She finally packed enough courage
to do what she has planned for years
yet somehow was unable
and as she walks towards the door
she drops her letter on the dresser table

Nice images. Poems like this are as unique as a person's personality. Thank you!

Sorry I haven't been around lately. Lots of stuff happened. I just got caught up on all your work from the last few months.
It's always a pleasure to read your work. I especially loved the bakery poem.

Real. So real, yet gentle for the theme. I like this, very much.
