When The Garden Awakes

The rising sun flickers through the trees

creating dancing shadows on the lawn

while a lively breeze

is giving the old rusty vane

a good whirl around

The only soothing sound

besides the chirping of birds

in these early moments of the dawn

when all day noise is still unheard

poetry, garden, dawn

Not a better moment in the day

for standing here and have a listen

while leaning in the doorway

face to the sun like the flowers

and sipping hot tea

Only quietness and me

watching the emerald grass wave

with a million dewdrops that glisten

when the garden slowly awakes

This is exactly how I felt this morning. I must have uttered "I love it here" a dozen times, under my breath, to the dogs, to the breeze; and it was still so!

Aah! The peace and tranquility of early dawn. Nothing like it. Time to gather one's thoughts and reflect, before the shackles of daily life take hold.
Beautifully written.

Really beautiful. I love the imagery. And I completely agree. There's not a better time in the day. I'm usually sipping coffee though :)

Lovely poetry. Most importantly I loved the nature love in the poem.

Super cool poem. You reminds me of those days when I used to hear and learn poems from my grand father of his own writings. Again the old days memories got refreshed.

I really like the poem. It goes into deeper in my bones. I don't know the feeling, I can't really explain it. Those words are very sweet in my eyes as I read it.
